Ada N. Bernhardt, 65, of the 8000 block of Quail Hollow, died July 4, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Bernhardt was a native of Wise, Va. and an avid golfer. Mrs. Bernhardt was a member of and active in several local golf associations within the area. She also a member of the Elizabeth River Garden Club, the St. Croix Botanical Gardens, the St. Croix Environmental Association, the Whim Plantation Historical Society and a former member of the Redwood Garden Club. Other memberships include the Ladies Auxiliary of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and former member of the Lawrence T. Royster Circle of The King's Daughters.
Survivors include her husband, John B. Bernhardt; two sons, Jared B. Bernhardt of St. Croix, U.S.V.I., John Carter Bernhardt of Newport News; her mother, Pearl Stanley of Richmond; three sisters, Ernestine Ward of Kingsport, Tenn., Ruby Page of Tucson, Ariz., Willy Dingus of Gordonsville, Va.; and one granddaughter, Leah Bernhardt.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Carl LeMon. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends at their home this evening at 8020 Quail Hollow, Suffolk, Va. 23433. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
