CHARLES W. SUGG

Charles Ware Sugg, 74, a retired real estate assessor for the City of Norfolk, died July 4, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mr. Sugg was born in Norfolk and was a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church. He was past president of Norfolk Sports Club; charter member and past president of Chesapeake Athletic Club; past president of the American Society of Appraisers; past president of the Virginia Association of Assessing Officers; and past member of the Norfolk Kiwanis Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sisters, Hattie S. Steinman and Silver ``Mitzi'' Brewer and a brother, J.T. Sugg Jr, all of Norfolk; three nieces, Nancy Martone, Donna Bergner and Ann Ballard; four nephews, Jim, Chuck, Troy and Tommy Brewer; several great-nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Talbot Park Baptist Church by Dr. Tim Dixon and the Rev. Keith Martin. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and other times at the home of J.T. Sugg Jr. at 1314 Shaw Place in Norfolk. Memorial donations may be sent to the Norfolk Sports Club Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 12501, Norfolk, Va. 23541, or to the American Cancer Society.
