Harvard Gaston Vickery, 79, of Burksdale Road, died July 5, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Vickery was born in Phil Campbell, Ala. He retired from the U.S. Navy as CGM with 22 years of service. He was a World War II veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He also retired from civil service after 18 years of service, as an airplane mechanic.
He was a deacon and elder in Third Presbyterian Church of Norfolk. He was a member of Moose Lodge (NU)39 of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Vickery; two sons, Harvard Alan Vickery and wife, Carol and Paul Edward Vickery and wife, Debra; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Roger Vickery and Roland Vickery of Phil Campbell, Ala.; and Laren Vickery of Cullman, Ala.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Steve Cronn with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. The family requests that memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
