The cruisers Yorktown and Ticonderoga will leave Norfolk in 1996,

not 1998. A front-page graphic Tuesday on Navy ship movements had

the wrong years.

Elliot Mincberg is executive vice president and legal director

for People for the American Way. His name was misspelled in an

Associated Press story Tuesday about the Virginia ``motor voter''

law.

A MetroNews story June 27 incorrectly reported the annual budget

of the regional office of the Virginia Legal Aid Society. It is

$1.7 million.

A MetroNews story Saturday about the Japanese occupation of the

Philippines during World War II incorrectly referred to a family's

herd of caribou. The animals mentioned were ``carabao'' - water

buffalo.

A recent Supreme Court ruling held that a school district in the

town of Vernonia, Ore., could give drug tests to student athletes.

The town's name was misspelled in a Daily Break column Saturday. by CNB
