Norfolk Police Officer Lt. John O'Connor, a 33-year veteran of the

department, was laid to rest at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk

on Wednesday afternoon, as dozens of colleagues surrounded his

casket. O'Connor, who died after suffering a massive heart attack

Friday night, was head of the property and evidence unit. He joined

the department in 1962 and received 34 commendations during his

career. He was 55.
