I must protest Governor Allen's decision to withhold funding from the sex-offender program in Bland.
What a dumb, Dark Ages decision that is. No program is 100 percent effective, but if only one of those inmates is helped to change his ways, then we'll have one less sex offender on the street.
People must be given hope. Sex offenders are sick people who need hope and help to become healthy human beings. Statistics show that treatment programs cut the rate of re-offenses by half, and the men in the program claim that it changed their lives.
