Jeffrey C. Dempsey, 37, formerly of Honolulu, Haw., died Wednesday, July 5, 1995, at Licking County Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
He was a graduate of Hertford High School, Hertford, N.C., and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Northrup Grumman as a senior engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Dempsey; his step-daughter, Jennifer A. Finley, of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, John C. and his wife, Judy Dempsey of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Susan Dempsey of Honolulu, Haw.; and nephews, Joshua L. and J. Aaron Dempsey. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Virginia Dempsey.
The visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today in Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 East Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio. The funeral will follow at 5 p.m. and the Rev. David Gertreu will officiate. Cremation will follow the services and the scattering of ashes will take place in Hawaii at a later date.
