ROYCE E. JONES

Royce Earl Jones, age 62, of Lexington, died Sunday, July 9, 1995, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born January 26, 1933, at Hampton Va., he was the son of the late Herbert David Jones and Rozella Parker Jones. Mr. Jones was director of Cadet Affairs at the Virginia Military Institute, where he graduated with the Class of '55, serving as the vice president of his class. He was a member of Manly Memorial Baptist Church and was a member of the Keydet Club and Kappa Alpha Order.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Rutledge Jones of Lexington; two daughters, Laura Jones Kindley of Virginia Beach and Patricia Jones Affronti of Virginia Beach; two sons, Richard Craig Jones of Fork Union and Royce Earl Jones Jr. of Pleasureville, Ky.; one sister, Catherine J. Tyndall of Hampton; four brothers, Ronald Herbert Jones of Springfield, Mo., Glen Derwood Jones of Newport News, Robert Eugene Jones of Enterprise, Fla., and Larry Parker Jones of Newport News; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 12, 1995, at 11 a.m. from Manly Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to V.M.I Foundation or Keydet Club. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Harrison Funeral Home.
