Leona Carawan Cherry, 87, of Virginia Beach, died July 9, 1995, after a long illness.
Mrs. Cherry was a native of Mesic, N.C., but lived most of her life in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach area. She was the widow of Robert J. Cherry Sr. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach. Mrs. Cherry and her husband were the owners and operators of Cherry-Pearson Men's Clothing in Virginia Beach.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia C. Stockton of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; one son, Robert J. Cherry Jr. of Virginia Beach, and four grandchildren.
A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 1995, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel.
