A man wanted on suspicion of robbing an Oceana-area car wash and assaulting its manager last month has been arrested in San Juan, Puerto Rico, police said Monday.
German Colon Robles, 18, is accused of being half of a duo that robbed Southern Pride car wash in the 1200 block of Oceana Blvd. on June 5 while dressed in ninja-like clothing.
The other suspect, 19-year-old Antone Green of the 100 block of N. Oceana Blvd., was arrested two days after the robbery. Police said his fingerprint was found on a money box at the car wash.
Robles was being held as a fugitive from justice Friday after he waived extradition in a San Juan court, Virginia Beach police spokesman Mike Carey said. Robbery investigators were making arrangements to have Robles transported back to Virginia Beach later this week, Carey said.
Robles, also known as Herman, was charged with robbery, using a firearm in a felony, wearing a mask, and malicious assault. His last known address is in the 5800 block of Roxbury Place.
The car wash manager, Pedro E. Medoro of Norfolk, suffered a head injury during the robbery, Carey said. At the time, Medoro told police he saw the suspects with a gun and a Samurai-style sword.
