Rosa Thelma Burke, 79, of the 2900 block of Lens Ave., died July 8, 1995 in her home.
Mrs. Burke was born in South Carolina. She retired from laundry service at Boulevard Cleaners after 15 years, was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, 718 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, and the widow of Orion Burke.
Survivors include a daughter, Wessie Burke Barnes of Jamaica, N.Y.; a son, Earl Burke of Norfolk; a foster son, Vernon Williams of Norfolk; a lifelong sister and friend, Ruth Dubose of Norfolk; two brothers, Theo Caraway Jr. and Robert Caraway, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Jerusalem Baptist Church by Dr. Thomas Venable. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will assemble at the home at 11 a.m. for the procession to the church on Friday. Arrangements by Hale Funeral Home. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
