MARIE A. KINLEY

Marie Antoinette Kinley died at a local nursing home on Monday, July 10, 1995.

Mrs. Kinley was born on December 23, 1901 in St. Brieuc, France. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederic B. Kinley with whom she lived in York, Pa., for 40 years, and by her brother, Adm. Henry Nomy, a former Chief of Staff of the French Navy. She was the last remaining member of the Nomy family and name in France.

Upon moving to Virginia Beach in 1979, she became active on the Senior Volunteer Program, particularly with Social Services where she volunteered 2 to 3 days a week for 11 years. In 1992, she was recognized by the United Way Volunteer Connection and by Mayor Meyera Oberndorf for over 5000 hours of volunteer service.

She is survived by her son, Capt. Frederic H.M. Kinley, U.S. Navy (Ret.) and daughter-in-law, Priscilla of Virginia Beach; and by three grandchildren, Guy H.N. Kinley of Brussels, Belgium, Paul G. Kinley of San Francisco, Calif., and Kara A. Kinley of Virginia Beach.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Gregory's Church, Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14. Contributions may be made to the SPCA or to a charity of choice. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
