VELMA JEAN CRAIG

Velma Jean Craig, 72, of the 2400 block of Taylorwood Blvd., died July 10, 1995 in Suffolk.

She was a native of Huntsville, Ala., the widow of Dorset W. Craig and was a member of Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Portsmouth.

Survivors include two sons, Russell L. Craig of Chesapeake and Phillip W. Craig of Virginia Beach; a sister, Lois Alington of Peoria, Ill.; four brothers, Wilbur Smith of Suffolk, Bobby Smith of Huntsville, Ala., and Bea Smith and Jimmy Smith, both of Peoria, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Dave Klinsing and the Rev. Earl Freeland. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
