WOMAN KILLED IN CAR WRECK

A woman was killed near Lee Hall Reservoir on Tuesday when her car jumped a median and crashed into an oncoming car, police said.

The accident occurred at 7 a.m. on Fort Eustis Boulevard when the woman's 1989 Isuzu, heading west, crossed the median and crashed into a 1992 Eagle Summit heading east.

Police were withholding the identity of the Isuzu driver until relatives could be notified. Police say she is a 31-year-old soldier at Fort Eustis. Investigators could not say why the woman's car jumped the median.

The identity of the Summit driver, a 30-year-old woman, was also withheld. She was treated at a local hospital.
