NORFOLK NAMES BANKRUPTCY JUDGE

Stephen C. St. John, an attorney in Chesapeake, was appointed Tuesday as bankruptcy judge for the Norfolk Division of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern Division of Virginia.

St. John was appointed to succeed Judge Hal J. Bonney Jr., who retired at the end of February. St. John is a partner with the Chesapeake law firm of Faggert and Friedan.

St. John has practiced law in Hampton Roads since 1977, when he earned his law degree from the University of Virginia. He was the 1994 chairman of the board of the Chesapeake Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.

St. John will be sworn in in late August or early September.
