Gail Hughes LaMondue, of the 1300 block of Llewellyn Ave., died July 10, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. LaMondue was born in Norfolk. She was formerly a schoolteacher for the City of Norfolk and a self-employed real estate agent. She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, a Sunday School teacher and young adult leader. She was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated (Norfolk Alumni Chapter) and a graduate of Norfolk State University. The Delta's will observe an Omega Omega ceremony today at 7 p.m. at Graves Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Attorney Carl C. LaMondue; her parents, Hassie L. Hughes and Walker Lee Hughes of Norfolk; three sisters, Patricia Brown of San Diego, Calif., Joyce Hughes of Chesapeake and Sandra Rice of Burtonsville, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Graves Funeral Home, today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Union United Church of Christ by the Rev. Anthony Taylor and the Rev. Joseph Copeland. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Graves Funeral Home. Friends may join the family at the residence. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation or to the Delta Scholarship Fund.
