Gerald William Kuns, 74, of the 1000 block of Wymers Court, died July 12, 1995, in his home.
He was a native of Carl Junction, Mo., and had retired from the U.S. Navy as a CPO MMC after 20 years of service. He was also a retired shipyard worker in Jacksonville, Fla. He attended Kempsville Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He was a Navy veteran of World War II stationed in the Pacific Theater and fought in the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gini and Frank Martin of Chesapeake; one sister, Floretta Stark of California; one brother, Harry Kuns of Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Sandy Martin, Frank Martin IV and Tiffany Martin, all of Chesapeake. He was predeceased by a son, Mark Kuns.
The memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Kempsville Presbyterian Church by the Rev. John Roberts. Burial will be at sea by the U.S. Navy with full military honors. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is handling the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Boys Town.
