These are the actions from the Norfolk City Council meeting Tuesday. All members were present. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were unanimous.

Public hearings

On the application of the Virginia Port Authority by Karen Bostic for the closing, vacating and discontinuing of a portion of Terminal Avenue. Approved.

On the application of Sean E. Calway for the closing, vacating and discontinuing of a portion of East Little Creek Road. Approved.

To hear comments on the city's Second Water Revenue Bond Sale to fund the cash-flow needs of the Water Fund Capital Improvement Program. Approved.

Consent agenda

Letter presenting recommendation of the City Planning Commission on the application of Zimmer Development Company of Virginia to close a portion of Beauregard Street. (Public hearing recommended for July 25.) Approved.

Letter on the application of A.P. Grice and Son Inc. to close a portion of Pershing Avenue. (Public hearing recommended for July 25.) Approved.

Letter forwarding a petition from the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the closure of a portion of Outten Street and Maysville Avenue. (Refer to city manager and City Planning Commission for recommendation and report.) Approved.

Regular agenda

Public hearing on the application of Calvary Revival Church, by J. Randall Royal, to amend the General Plan of Norfolk, 1992, to change the land-use designation from medium density residential to institutional, on property now or formerly numbered 2357 E. Little Creek Road. (No further public hearing to be held.) Approved.

Public hearing on the application of Calvary Revival Church by J. Randall Royal for a change of zoning from C-2 (Corridor Commercial District) to Conditional IN-2 (Institutional Campus District) and to approve the institutional development plan on property now or formerly numbered 2357 E. Little Creek Road. (No further public hearing to be held.) Approved.

An ordinance to amend and re-ordain Chapter 30 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, by adding one new section numbered 30-16 entitled Pretty Lake Crab Sanctuary. (Passed by at June 27 meeting.) Approved.

An ordinance authorizing the replacement of an outdoor advertising sign at 714 Stapleton Street. Approved.

An ordinance vacating a portion of Princeton Avenue. Approved.

An ordinance authorizing the sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption at 120-124 Granby St. Approved.

An ordinance authorizing the waiver of special assessment against those parcels of property located in phase I and phase II of Philpotts Road Project, the release of any special assessment liens recorded against such property and the reimbursement of any sums paid to the city as a result of the imposition of such special assessments. Approved.

An ordinance authorizing the acquisition by condemnation of property located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Llewellyn Avenue and West 22nd Street, which is owned by R.J. Klemstine and Associates Inc., and authorizing the expenditure of $26,700 to acquire the same. Approved.

An ordinance creating six positions in the Department of Police and providing funds for salaries. Approved.
