Billie Fearing Reid, 74, of 577 Body Road, Elizabeth City, died in the Albemarle Hospital Wednesday afternoon. He was a native of Pasquotank County and was a farmer for over 60 years. Mr. Reid was the son of the late Wade Hampton and Maggie Harrell Reid and the husband of Mrs. Anna Fountain Reid. He was a member of the Halls Creek United Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, William Fearing Reid of Meridian, Miss., and Richard Wade Reid of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Margaret R. Small of Elizabeth City and Marian R. Sharp of Pinehurst, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Hollywood Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Formo. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Church St., is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends and relatives at their residence.
