MARTIN D. TURNER

Martin Dorsey Turner, 51, of the 2500 block of Waverly Way, a stevedore, died July 12, 1995, in a Virginia hospital.

Mr. Turner was born in Norfolk. He was employed by ILA Local 1248 for 23 years, was a member of St. John A.M.E. Church and was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Denise Turner; two daughters, Christina D. Turner and Sittesha Johnson; a son, Martin D. Turner Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Janette Lowery of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Sylvia Patterson of Richmond, Va.; and two brothers, Dr. Phillip Turner and Kirby Turner, both of Virginia Beach.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday at St. John A.M.E. Church, Bute Street, Norfolk, by the Rev. C. Douglas Mackey Archer Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Monday. Family and friends will assemble at 11:30 a.m. at Hale Funeral Home for procession to the church.
