EDUCATION

The office of institutional advancement at Old Dominion University promoted John Broderick from assistant vice president to associate vice president. He will remain director of university relations.

Also, Harry P. Creemers an associate vice president in the office and executive director of development, will assume additional duties as capital campaign director.

And, Philippe M. Chino, director of the president's council in the office, will oversee the daily office operations.

Kevin L. Clary was named director of alumni relations with Virginia Wesleyan College. Clary, a VWC graduate, has been director of annual giving and alumni services with Chowan College in Murfreesboro, N.C. since 1991.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Frank A. Downing Jr. has joined the Norfolk Chiropractic Center Inc. Downing has been in private practice since 1993. He will continue his practice with Tidewater Life Cycles in Portsmouth.

LAW

The Norfolk Law Library's board of directors elected Ann K. Sullivan president. Sullivan is with Crenshaw, Ware & Martin in Norfolk.

Michael A. Glasser was appointed to a three-year term on the disciplinary board with the Virginia State Bar. Glasser is a member of the Norfolk law firm of Glasser and Glasser.

Andrew T. Shilling joined the law firm of Tavss, Fletcher, Earley & King in Norfolk. His practice is in the areas of civil litigation.

Shilling was with McGuire, Woods, Battle & Boothe. He also is an assistant professor with the Tidewater Community College in Norfolk.

MUSEUM

Herbert V. Kelly Jr. was re-elected president of the Virginia Living Museum's board of trustees for the 1995-96 year. Kelly is an attorney with Jones, Blechman, Woltz & Kelly in Newport News

RETAIL

Camellia Food Stores Inc. in Norfolk named David Scully director of store operations and merchandising. Scully was a district manager.

Joseph Cannestra and Carl McKinney were named regional directors, Cannestra covering Virginia, Maryland and Delaware, and McKinney covering Virginia and North Carolina. They were previously district managers.

REAL ESTATE

Ted M. Sherman was named to the newly created position of chief operating officer with Virginia Commercial Real Estate Services in Virginia Beach. Sherman was vice president and director of management services with Read Commercial Properties.

G. Michelle Anastasiou was appointed director of accounting services with Olympia Development Corp., a real estate company in Virginia Beach. Anastasiou was a senior accountant with Vector Microwave Research in Virginia Beach.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Special Educational Advisory Committee on Maritime and International Trade elected Charles W. Best III chairman of its executive committee. Best is an attorney with Best & Best in Norfolk.

The Institute of Management Accountants, Hampton Roads chapter, elected Karen Walker-Fletcher and Terry Lyons co-presidents for the 1995-96 year. Walker-Fletcher is a partner with Don Richards Associates of Tidewater, and Lyons is controller with Metro Information Services.

Susan Surles Cunningham was elected president with Zonta International. Cunningham is a professional speaker and consultant.

The Sales and Marketing Executives of Tidewater Virginia Inc. elected Bynny Abel president for the 1995-96 year. Abel is with Commerce Bank.
