Aeropostale, a Macy's specialty store owned by Federated Department Stores, has located in Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach. The store offers a line of fashion and casual wear for men and women.

ACQUISITIONS

Harbor Group Real Estate has bought the Shady Banks Shopping Center on Route 134 in York County for $2.9 million. The center had been owned by the Independent Life & Accidental Insurance Co. Shady Banks is anchored by a Food Lion supermarket and a Rite-Aid drug store. Divaris Property Management will provide property management duties.

Harbor Group also purchased Summer Creek Apartments, a 120 unit complex in Goose Creek, S.C., for $1.5 million from Walker & Nettles in Walterboro, S.C.

HONORS, AWARDS

Brickell & Associates Public Relations and the city of Virginia Beach Department of Convention and Visitor Development jointly received a Silver Anvil award for its project in the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of D-Day.

Sixty-one of 481 entered public relations programs were selected as finalists for the award. Thirty-four silver anvils were awarded. The award for excellence in public relations was in the special events category (fewer than seven days), the only award in its classification.

RELOCATIONS

Hofheimer`s Family Shoe Store has relocated its Lynnhaven Mall location in the J.C. Penney wing of the mall.
