Russell W. Washington, 87, of the 1100 block of Charleston St., died July 15, 1995, in DePaul Medical Center.
He was a native of Norfolk County and was retired from the Naval Supply Center. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Norfolk, and after a long illness moved his membership to First Baptist Church Logan Park in Norfolk. He was a great golf lover and belonged to Seaside Golf Club and Titustown Golf Club, both in Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Keys Washington; one daughter, Margaret Washington Campbell of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; two dear nephews, Eugene Wilson and Claudious Wilson; a sister-in-law, Lucille Lacewell, all of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in First Baptist Church Logan Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. Joseph Price. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in the church Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at 1118 Charleston St., Norfolk, on Thursday at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is handling the arrangements.
