MOTOR-VOTER MOTIVE

Concerning the latest on the motor-voter bill: It is not so amazing that our Republican governor would not want to make voter registration easier for students or the poor. His party would not benefit at election time. Yet Governor Allen is obstructing the democratic process in the commonwealth of Virginia. Thomas Jefferson must be rolling over in his grave.

Governor Allen's concerns of election fraud are completely unfounded. However, if Governor Allen used funds needed to ``defend'' his position on the moter-voter bill, a fraud-prevention system, then this would no longer be an issue.

Governor Allen represents the interests of the people of this state, not just the interests of the Republican Party. He should get to work on the real issues and quit wasting time and money.
