ALICE M. BURRUS

Alice Mae Burrus, 67, of the 500 block of Tidewater Drive, died July 14, 1995.

She was a native of Norfolk and was the widow of Robert Burrus. She was retired from the Norfolk Public Schools after 16 years of service.

Survivors include five daughters, Joyce Wilson of Portmouth, Patricia Evans of Norfolk, Phyllis Holloway of Chesapeake, Deborah Wiggins of Norfolk, and Regina Etheridge of Woodbridge; three sons, Robert Burrus of Jacksonville, James Evans Jr. of Norfolk, and David Burrus of Maryland; two brothers, Ernest Evans Jr. of Norfolk and Leroy Evans of Salem, Va.; 17 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, James Evans.

Alice Mae Burrus known as ``Mae'' was well loved by a host of relatives, darling daughter-in-law, devoted son-in-law, and committed long time friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church, South Hill, by the Rev. M.R. Toliver. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
