WILLIAM L. TURNER JR.

William Lonnie (Bill) Turner, Jr., 71, of the 200 block of John Deere St., a retired sanitation foreman, died July 18, 1995 in Obici Hospital, Suffolk.

Mr. Turner was born in Wilson County, N.C. He retired from Lipton Tea Company.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ward Turner; three daughters, Gloria T. Byrd and Tracy T. Trim, both of Suffolk, and Shirley T. Walker of Windsor; two sons, William Gary Turner of Franklin and Mark Allen Turner of Suffolk; two sisters, Marjorie T. Terry of Kitty Hawk, N.C., and Betty Lou T. Brown of Ashland County, Ky.; a brother, Robert F. Turner of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was the son of the late Mattie Lee Meeks Turner and William Lonnie Turner, Sr.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Bob Vaughn. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday and suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
