AMANDA J. ELLIOTT

Amanda J. Elliott, 83, of the 700 block of Harway Ave., died July 17, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.

Mrs. Elliott was born in Cerro Gordo, N.C., was a member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ, Ladies Council of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ and The Willing Worker Class, was a member of the Senior Square Dancers, Saints Olive Singing Club, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of South Norfolk, I.B.E.W. Ladies Auxiliary Local (NU)80, Indian River Senior Citizens, and was the widow of Buren D. Elliott.

Survivors include two sons, C.E. Jordan of Burleson, Texas, and Jim Jordan of Trevilians, Va.; three sisters, Esta Mae McDuffie of Winston-Salem, N.C., Kate Horne of Whiteville, N.C., and Dinah Powell of Clarkton, N.C.; a brother, H.C. Edwards of Clarkton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Mitch Caton. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Columbus Memorial Cemetery, Whiteville, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to Laurel Avenue Church of Christ in her name.
