For the first time, Canada is one of the top 10 areas requesting information about the Outer Banks, according to the Dare County Tourist Bureau.
June was the second consecutive month that the number of Canadian requests has been high. In May, Canada was ranked 10 - but pushed to No. 2 in June.
The bureau began a push in Canada last fall, with efforts including advertising and promotions. In May, the bureau hosted the Canadian Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers.
