State Sen. L. Louise Lucas of Portsmouth will be one of four speakers at a celebration Aug. 26-27 of the 75th anniversary of woman suffrage at the Sunken Garden on the campus of the College of William & Mary.
Other speakers will be Richmond attorney Sylvia Clute; Hope Edelman, author of ``Motherless Daughters;' and Bobbi Kamil, founder of Cable in the Classroom.
Exhibits of more than 30 non-profit organizations will showcase services of organizations that focus on women's issues and concerns. Throughout the weekend, seminars and forums will cover health, financial, political, business and social issues.
A variety of music will be featured in concerts scheduled throughout the weekend and a Virginia food and wine tasting will be held during the celebration.
The activities to commemorate passage of the 19th Amendment which gave women the vote are being coordinated by the Celebrate Women Event Board, headquartered in Norfolk. For information, call 857-1794. by CNB
