Mary Helen White, 63, of the 200 block of Benson Lane, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 18, 1995.
Mrs. White was born in Balfour, N.C., on February 9, 1932. She was the daughter of the late James B. and Mary L. Starnes. She had been employed as a telephone operator and was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Frank E. White; a son, Russell Dale White of Chesapeake; two daughters, Janice E. Hoehne of Virginia Beach and Karen L. Bailey of Chesapeake; a brother, Walter H. Starnes of Oak Ridge, TN; three sisters, Doris S. Rogers of Charleston, S.C., Joann Dripps and Gertrude Fair, both of Oak Ridge, TN; and six grandchildren, Sherry S. Elms, Ryan R. Stevenson, Michael D. Bailey, Melissa L. Bailey, Kaitlin N. White and Joshua D. White. Mrs. White was preceded in death by a son, Scott Brian White.
A service will be conducted Friday, July 21, 1995, at 11 a.m. in Great Hope Baptist Church with Rev. John Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake, in charge of arrangements.
