John Edward Haney, 41, of Ocean View, died July 19, 1995 in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Haney was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, co-owner and co-operator of Haney and Sons and was a Roman Catholic. John was very active as a coach and a volunteer with the city of Norfolk's women's softball league.
He is survived by his parents, Dale F. Haney and Sarah Hillegass Haney of Norfolk; three sisters, Sally Haney of Richmond, Va., Mary Haney of Fairfax, Va., and Joan Tank of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Bill Haney of Coral Springs, Fa., Dale Haney of Herndon, Va., and Joseph Haney of Norfolk; six nieces; and five nephews.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
