WILLIAM G. JENKINS JR.

William Gradie Jenkins Jr., 71, of the 2300 block of Tapscott Ave., a retired truck driver, died July 18, 1995, in Chesapeake.

Mr. Jenkins was born in Franklin, Va. He retired from Colonial Stores after 35 years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Crestwood, the Trustee Board and Male Usher Board. He was a Mason, a member of Lion Social Club Inc. and was the widower of Elizabeth N. Jenkins.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Harding of Chesapeake, Edna Jenkins, Brenda Bagby of Reston, Va.; two sons, William G. Jenkins III of Norfolk and Marcus A. Jenkins of Onalaska, Wis.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents, Elzenia R. Jenkins and William G. Jenkins Sr.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Crestwood, by the Rev. Willie Lee Samuel. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Arrangements by Hale Funeral Home. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Family will assemble at his residence.
