Dorothy White Hobbs, 78, of the 3400 block of E. Jackson St., died Friday, July 21, 1995, in Halifax Memorial Hospital, Roanoke Rapids.
Mrs. Hobbs was born in Perquimans County. The daughter of the late Wayland and Mrs. Novella Winslow White, she was a retired registered nurse having served as the public health nurse in Northampton County for over 30 years. She was a member of Jackson United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Odell Worth Hobbs.
Surviving are her son, Richard W. Williford of Rich Square; two sisters, Evelyn W. Rountree of Sunbury and Marjorie W. Blanchard of Hertford; and three grandchildren, Meagan Leigh Williford, Brooks Ann Williford and Justin Baker Williford.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Up River Cemetery, Belvidere, by the Rev. Bobby E. Turner. Friends may join the family Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and other times at the residence.
