Elijah M. ``Muscle Man'' Jones Jr., 53, of the 5500 block of Berry Hill Road, died July 19, 1995.
He was a native of Princess Anne County and was a retired longshoreman with Local (NU)1248. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church on Baker Road. He served in the U.S. Army and had been known to help others in the time of need.
He is survived by two daughters, Keike Perkins of Norfolk, Stephanie Wiggins of Virginia Beach; three sons, Patrick Aaron Jones of Virginia Beach, Victor Ocavious Jones of Virginia Beach, and Jonathan Delvon Wood of Norfolk; his father, Elijah M. Jones Sr.; two sisters, Monica O. Jones of Virginia Beach and Regina B. Harris of Norfolk; four brothers, Vernon M. Jones of Maryland, James J. Jones of Norfolk, Delk Jones of Norfolk, and Albert P. Cross of Virginia Beach; one brother-in-law, Thomas Daryl Harris of Norfolk; grandchildren, Victoria Nicole and Billy McCoy; and an ``adopted'' mom, Viola Britt. He was predeceased by his mother, Mildred V. Jones.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 875 Baker Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. C.K. Jones. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. P.G. Thomasson Funeral Services Inc. is handling the arrangements.
