Kate Greenwell Snowden, 83, formerly of Cavalier Forest, a retired Portsmouth City School Board employee, died on July 19, 1995.
She was a member of Court Street Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Gregory Snowden. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1929.
Survivors include a son, Ronald G. Snowden of Abingdon, Va.; a daughter, Elizabeth S. Just of Virginia Beach; a brother, W. Fred Greenwell of Jacksonville, N.C.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, July 23, 1995, at 2 p.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. L. Wilbur Kersey. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or your favorite charity.
