PENINSULA DRIVER KILLED

An 18-year-old Grafton resident was fatally injured early Friday when his vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree, state police said.

Mark A. Dexter was driving east on Route 30, just west of Route 607, when he fell asleep at the wheel just after 5 a.m. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Dexter was on his way home from his job at Central Atlantic Contractors.

He was taken to Williamsburg Community Hospital, where he died just after 6 a.m.
