JEANNE-MARIE JOYNER

Jeanne-Marie (Johnny) Joyner, a former resident of Virginia Beach, died in a private aircraft accident on July 5, 1995 while on her way to a barber shop convention.

While residing in Virginia Beach, she was actively involved in both military and community activities. She was a former president of the NAS Oceana Officers Wives Club, Navy Relief volunteer, POW-MIA organizer, and an active participant in the local chapter of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.

Jeanne-Marie was the former wife of Capt. James D. Joyner USN/RET. She is survived by three children, R. David B. Joyner and Julie Washington of Virginia Beach, and HM2 R. Derek B. Joyner of Pensacola, FL., four grandchildren, Danielle Washington, Tyler Joyner, Joshua Campbell, and Jacqueline Joyner, her parents, Reubin and Marie Lottinger, and two sisters, Patricia Thrailkill and Linda McCanna. Funeral services were held at Mothe Funeral Home on July 9, 1995 with interment in West Lawn Memorial Park in New Orleans, LA.

Those who knew her knew of her unconditional love and support. Remember Jeanne-Marie with her smile and laughter. Her strength, love and sense of humor will never leave our minds, nor our hearts. She will be deeply missed.
