David Robert Schafer, 33, died July 22, 1995, in a Suffolk nursing home.
He was a native of Columbus, Ohio, loan officer/collection manager for Guardian Federal Credit Union, a member of the U.S. Tennis Association, a graduate of West Jefferson High School and attended Miami University of Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Dora M. Schafer; a daughter, Mallory Elizabeth Schafer; his parents, Robert F. Schafer and Sidney Schafer of West Jefferson, Ohio; and two sisters, Laura Bailey and Robyn Curry and her husband, Scott, all of West Jefferson.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park.
