MARGARET C. FLOYD

Mrs. Albert O. Floyd, 71, a Virginia native, retired Virginia Beach City Public Schools secretary, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and servant of God, went to live with her maker July 19, 1995.

Margaret C. Floyd (Marge) was born in Norfolk County, daughter of Margaret Culpepper Todd and Clyde E. Curling. She was the widow of Albert O. FLoyd Sr. who preceded her into heaven by 11 days. She served the Virginia Beach City Public Schools as secretary at Pembroke Elementary School for 14 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Virginia Beach Association of Educational Office Professionals.

Her committment to God was evident by sending her children to a Christian high school and college and setting an example of trusting in God in sickness and health. She was very active at Aragona Church of Christ until her illness and had served for many years as church clerk and librarian.

Survivors include her children, Albert O. Floyd, Jr. ``Bert'', 40, and his wife Mary of Atlanta, Margaret F. Wolfred ``Meg'' , 37, of Virginia Beach; her mother, Margaret C. Todd, 95, of Chesapeake; a brother, William D. Todd, III and his wife Connie of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Ashley K. Floyd and Jason T. Floyd of Atlanta, and Benjamin B. Wolfred of Virginia Beach. Also remaining are an aunt, two nieces, one nephew and several cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at Aragona Church of Christ, 517 N. Witchduck Road, at 2 p.m. today by Minister William Campbell, with interment at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the Aragona Church of Christ Building Fund. Arrangements by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
