In a recent column, Ellen Goodman wrote about several issues relating to the abortion debate that have been discussed in recent months.
Ms. Goodman claims that pro-lifers are taking drastic measures to eliminate the supply of abortions because they have lost the abortion debate and the public overwhelmingly supports abortion.
In a January 1994 Roper poll, about half of the men and women polled were pro-life while many others said they were undecided. That doesn't sound like the public supports abortion all that much.
Pro-life candidates won in last November's elections by a wide margin over pro-choice candidates. Now a majority of the members of both houses of Congress are pro-life. It looks like the pro-choice movement is the one losing ground.
