Walter Leonard Cary, 82, of the 4600 block of Haywood Drive, died July 21, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was a native of Wilson County, N.C., and was the widower of Alice M. Cary. He was retired as a constrcution superintendent and was a member of Sweethaven Baptist CHurch, Portsmouth. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Marie C. Warren of Franklin; one sister, Evia Winstead; two brothers, Tommy Cary and O.T. Cary Jr., all of Elm City, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Tom Potter. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
