SECOND ARREST IN BEATING

A second man believed responsible for the severe beating of a 14-year-old boy early Sunday was arrested Monday afternoon, police said.

Christopher Hogbin, 25, of the 700 block of DeLaura Lane, has been charged with assaulting Jason K. Roberts while the teen was drinking beer in a park early Sunday, police spokesman Lou Thurston said.

Hogbin and another man, 30-year-old Gregory Watkins, allegedly began a fight with a group of teens that included Roberts.

Roberts was taken in critical condition to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he remains hospitalized.
