Sea-Land Service Inc., the ocean carrier subsidiary of Richmond-based CSX Corp., could be merged with Maersk Line eventually, said John Snow, chief executive of CSX. Sea-Land and Maersk, a Danish shipping line, are two of the largest ocean cargo carriers in the world. They agreed to an alliance recently to share space aboard their ships and port facilities. Sea-Land operates a container terminal in Portsmouth. Maersk is one of the largest shippers through Norfolk International Terminals. Snow told stock analysts June 20 that a merger was an option in the future. (Journal of Commerce) by CNB
