They're used to playing in the cold, but Sunday a few community-
spirited Hampton Roads Admirals ice hockey players hit the hot
asphalt for a good cause. Professional players Kelly Sorenson,
Brendan Curley, Tom Menicci, Ron Pascucci and Dennis McEwen were on
hand at H20, a restaurant on 19th Street, for a face-off presented
by the Hampton Roads Muscular Dystrophy Association. The ice hockey
players were challenged to games of Roller Blade hockey in the
restaurant's parking lot. Eleven opposing teams paid between $100
and $150 to go stick to stick against the members of the Admirals.
More than $2,500 in registration fees was collected to go to MDA.
The event was also sponsored by Ocean Potion and 93.7 The Coast.
