SEALS: THE SHOW IS JUST FAKE AND FUN - THIS TIME

SMOKE AND NOISE from fake battles invaded the beach at Fort Story as thousands of spectators gathered Saturday afternoon. They were on hand to watch Navy special forces units play war - rappel from helicopters, charge the shore, rescue downed pilots and parachute toward enemy targets.

It was the annual reunion of former frogmen and present-day SEALS and part of the reunion fun always includes a public demonstration. This year's action took spectators from World War II, when underwater demolition teams were first formed, to advanced present- day technology. ILLUSTRATION: Navy SEALs rappel from an Army helicopter to demonstrate to

reunion spectators one of the many methods they use to get into

enemy territory.
