Pearl Hammond, 83, of West Glen Road, died July 24, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
She was born in Rockingham, N.C., and was a retired seamstress of 22 years for Bemis Bag Co. She was a member of Zion Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Nonnie Hammond; one son, Timothy W. Hammond, and daughter-in-law Karen A. Hammond of Norfolk; one sister, Mary Thomas of Rockingham, N.C.; one brother, Raymond Webb of Rockingham; and two grandchildren, Cynthia Black of Melbourn, Fla., and Christina Hammond-Brotherton of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today by Pastor Charles W. Hubbard Jr. in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
