Raymond Hugh Worrell, of 18054 Cabin Point Road, died Monday July 24, 1995 in Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va., after a long illness.
He was a native of Southampton County, Va., and was retired from General Motors after 30 years of working as a supervisor. He was a member of Bryant Baptist Church in Courtland, Va., where he served as a Trustee and Deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Edna M. Worrell; one god-daughter, Patricia Clark of Stafford, Conn.; four sisters, Sarah Harvey, and Phillis Taylor, both of Petersburg, Va., Susanna Mason of Carson, Va., and Josephine McCarthy of Manassas, Va.; two brothers, James H. Worrell Jr. of Hampton, Va., and Vernon Worrell of Waverly, Va.; and one god-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 28, 1995, in Bryant Baptist Church by Rev. James Vinson. Burial is in the church cemetery. There will be a Wake Service at Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m., and viewing will begin Thursday morning at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. The remains will be placed in church Friday morning at 11 a.m. for viewing until funeral hour.
