Gordy Sykes Rooks, of 401 Banks St., died July 23, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
He was retired from the City of Franklin and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, Greenville County, Va.
He is survived by his wife Harriet E. Rooks; two sisters, Nora Ann Williams of Rocky Mount, N.C. and Lovesvoil Smith of Courtland, Va.; two brothers, Major ``Jack'' Sykes of Boykins, Va., and Ben A. Rooks of Courtland, Va.
A furneral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday in New Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. D.S. Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home handling arrangements.
