William P. Edney Sr., 69, died July 25, 1995, in his residence.
He was the retired owner of Thalia Shell Co., along with his son William P. ``Billy'' Edney Jr. for 26 years. He was born in Putney, Kent., and was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brown Edney; one daughter, Brenda Edney Maddrey of Virginia Beach; one son, William P. ``Billy'' Edney Jr. of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Edward M. Edney of Norfolk and Galen A. Edney of Florida; one grandson, John B. Maddrey III of Virginia Beach; and three granddaughters, Stacey Edney, Stephanie Edney, and Sarah Edney, all of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by Rev. Bob Crute in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Virginia Beach.
