Buoyed by the donation of a building, hymnals and choir robes, a new Baptist church has formed on the Outer Banks.
Charter members of Ocean View Baptist Church recently were given a building, valued at $200,000, on the west side of the N.C. 12 beach road at milepost 9. The building needs renovations. Church members are working to refurbish the building for a future sanctuary and Sunday School facility.
During the renovations this summer, the congregation has been meeting in an adjacent building.
Besides the building, the new church has received a variety of other donations. Two neighboring Outer Banks churches donated hymnals, a church in Virginia contributed choir robes, individuals donated a piano and 25 chairs, and North Carolina Baptist University has promised to supply the new church's library with books.
Ocean View Baptist Church invites anyone who is interested to worship in the new facility. Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m.; morning church services at 11; Sunday evening worship at 7; and Wednesday night services at 7. by CNB
